It’s Been a While
A Quick Update from Tinker Trails
It’s been a while since my last post, so I thought I’d drop in with a small update—just to stay visible and keep the rhythm going. Tinker Trails has always been a passion project, a personal playground for thoughts, design explorations, and occasional rambles. While I’m not trying to chase algorithms or timelines, I do want to stay consistent in showing up here with ideas that matter to me—and hopefully, to you too.
🍊 Branding Refresh
First off—something fun. Tinker Trails now has a new logotype!
It’s inspired by 80s rock bands (yes, a little Black Sabbath energy in there), and I love how it brings more personality into the mix. I wanted the branding to feel a little bolder, a little weirder—and most importantly, more me.
There’s also a new tangerine logo. Honestly, I was deep in a Phoenix Entertainment phase, and somehow that sound and color just stuck with me. It felt bright, rhythmic, and unexpectedly fitting once I saw it on the site.
If you’re new around here (welcome!), you can check out the About page to get a sense of what this space is all about.
✍️ Theming the Blog
Over the last few posts, I’ve noticed some emerging themes—especially around design values. Things like speed, uncertainty, and the idea of value itself have kept coming up in different ways.
To give this blog more structure (without boxing it in), I’m trying out two core themes going forward:
→ Process
Thoughts on design process—whether it’s personal reflections, how we design inside teams, or how product decisions evolve. This will likely become the core of Tinker Trails, as it’s where a lot of my curiosity lives.
→ Design Systems
After working with several design systems, I’ve realized how much there is to explore here—from strategy and structure to governance and culture. It’s something I’ve wanted to write about for a long time, and I’m finally making space for it.
This structure isn’t final—I’m still tinkering (as always). I might try out more themes and see what feels meaningful to pursue over time.
🫶 Closing Thoughts
Writing here continues to be a joy. It’s a place for me to step back, reflect, and reconnect with why I care about design in the first place. I’m not writing for reach—I’m writing to make sense of things, and to share that journey with whoever’s out there, reading along.
If you’ve been following for a while, thank you. If you’re new—welcome. I hope something here resonates, sparks a thought, or inspires you to reflect on your own creative path.
And hey, if you ever feel like responding—whether with thoughts, questions, or just a hello—I’d love that.
